Reid Gower, the space nerd who’s been promoting NASA through YouTube, has a new entry in his Sagan Series about the end of the manned space era. It’s only been a couple of hours since the final shuttle launch, but if your goosebumps have recessed, get ready for them to come back. And read our interview with him here.
Is Cindy Chang America’s Susan Boyle?

A diminutive housewife from the US has wowed judges of America’s Got Talent by pulling a Susan Boyle and having a better voice than her look and demeanour would suggest.
Sure, by now we should have stopped being surprised at discovering ordinary looking people can have extraordinary voices — like their appearance can ever suggest vocal quality... — but we can’t help it, even if we should know better.
So when 42-year-old Cindy Chang took to the stage at a recent America’s Got Talent audition, judges, the audience (and us) couldn’t help but view the softly-spoken homemaker and think she wouldn’t necessary be much cop.
During a brief on-stage chat with judge Piers Morgan, Cindy had revealed she was overcoming shyness and had always wanted to be a singer but her parents had always stopped her. Then Piers cut to the chase and said: “Why don’t we see the act?”
And oh boy did we! Cindy proceeded to belt out a well-voiced operatic tune leaving the judges with the sort of raised eyebrows and slack-jawed astonishment we have become accustomed to. And we’ve seen an armless man play the piano.
Unsurprisingly all of the judges agreed and sent her straight through to the next stage of competition in Las Vegas. You really didn’t expect anything else, did you?
If you’re still in the mood for more magical ‘Got Talent’ moments, why not check out this 10-year-old body-popper, a fingerless piano player, Super Mario recreated live on stage. And if you want to blub like a baby, there’s also Sung-bong Choi.
